| Video Discription | San Diego State University professor and computational epidemiologist John Ayers saw Google Flu Trends data in 2009 and said they were asking the wrong questions, as the flu only causes about 1% of deaths in America. Instead, he has used their data to understand what's killing most Americans, and demonstrates how he uses data from Google searches to move beyond 19th century approaches to studying public health. Why are there more search queries on healthy subjects on Mondays? Is this trend universal, and could it be a coincidence? What are you going to do to improve your health starting this Monday?
