| Video Discription | This video is part of a 4 day Thakhek Playlist on YouTube and is the first day we explore the first part of the loop. What is the Thakhek Loop? The Thakhek Loop, also known as the Kong Lor Loop or Cave trip in Laos is a spectacular 3-5 day trip around the famous Laos karst limestone peaks of Khammouane Province in central Laos and starts from Thakhek and loops back onto itself. Is the Thakhek loop worth it? Just like the Ha Gang Loop in Vietnam, the Thakhek loop in Laos is an incredible bike riding experience. Between the karstic reliefs and the most beautiful caves in the country and the nicest people from Asia, waving at you every step of the way. The Konglor loop can be completed in 3 days by combining the last two into one long drive day. It's a lot of ground to cover and makes for a miserable last day on the road. Four days is the typical route & the itinerary I'll be outlining below. How much does the Thakhek Loop cost? It total we spent under $200 for the whole 4 days and that included Konglor Cave, accommodation at Sabaidee guest house and other places, The Rock Ziplining and motor bike hire and fuel and food along the way. Laos is incredibly cheap and fun to explore. Bike rental companies in Thakhek are Mad Monkeys and one in the video. Accommodation was Bike and Bed hostel in Thakhek and then Sabaidee guest house. We visit many caves and swimming holes along the way but the first day was to get out into the Thakhek domain away from the towns.
