Bangkok with kids!
Hello, we just finished publishing our complete Bangkok series where we documented our epic adventures in Thailand as a family of four! I wanted to make a separate video that’s full of tips, tricks and must do things that we found helpful during this trip.
A good hotel- Featured in video the Royal Orchid Sheraton
Preferably with a pool, close to the river and breakfast included.. Bangkok can be very hot and muggy and nothing is better than coming back after a day of seeing sites and taking a relaxing dip!
Boats boats boats
Boats, take them all! Bangkoks most famous landmarks are on the banks of the chow pria river so they use super fun boats like buses to zip you from place to place! It’s so unique amazing and cools you off! Highly recommend it! You can see I usually strapped Piper in a carrier and grant was close to us! We also recommend the boats at the floating market as well as the various river cruises.. we did take a night cruise but I can’t fully recommend it as the food, noise and crowds was not very kid friendly..
Food markets
Do you want to expose your kid to new foods! Well look NO further than Bangkok! We hit the most epic of the markets the CHINA TOWN one on our first night! With the obligatory scorpion eating experience out of our way, we also explored the classy but more expensive JODD Fairs that I would say was amazingly kid friendly and super fun! There are also yummy food markets included in all of the floating markets! Thai food is so yummy and if you’re a parent who’s traveling with kids the iced coffee is otherworldly! Seriously! I miss it! Lol!!
Pick and choose but See the landmarks
We saw Wat Arun, Wat Pho and the Grand Palace and I can confidently say all are kid friendly and incredible! Grant stayed engaged through all of them but the grand palace is a lot! We recommend a guided tour with one parent staying with the tour and the other running around with the kids. Switching off if need be but it’s amazing and super fun even on hot days!! We also had an absolute thrilling time at the MahaNakhon! Another amazing activity with kids hanging 78 floors above Bangkok was super insane and I indulged in a frozen cocktail after to recover! Lol!
Train market is a must! The train is super slow and the shop keepers tell you wheee to stay safe! We got there an hour early before the train, saw the market and found a nice cafe to sit, grab a snack and the amazing cafe staff guide you to where to stand! When you’re packed like sardines the train slowly creaked along and you can say hi to the equally excited train passengers! Super fun experience and the kids loved it!
Take a day trip!!! We headed to Pattaya and if you look up videos for Pattaya it doesn’t look family friendly at all! We actually saw none of the stuff family’s would be concerned about! We took a ferry (check schedule and timings because we almost missed it!!) and head to the island off of Pattaya called Ko Lan From there we took a ride to Tien Beach and it was so much fun after Tarun found his wallet of course! We documented this all in part 4 of our Bangkok series. The beach is amazing for the kids and whole family really with awesome flora to rent and yummy food! There are many beaches on Ko Lan so look around and pick the one best for your family!
After the beach and boat back to Pattaya we checked out the sanctuary of truth! We loved it and it’s insanely beautiful but it was a bit much for grant.. he wanted to touch everything and run around and it being an active construction site.. that wasn’t a great combo along with the crowds.. for a sensory kid.. I might skip or leave outside take turns and have one go on an elephant ride as the other is checking out the building.
It is stroller and handicap accessible as you just need to request the van at the top of the hill and then there is a lift inside the sanctuary!
Parks are a must!
On the last day we hit Lumphini Park as well as Benchakitti Park
and both were amazing! Clean bathrooms! Amazing paths! Good play areas and finding the monitor lizards was great for grant!! The green mile connecting them was also amazing! Super fun!
Malls!
Don’t go fake bag shopping with the kids! It’s too distracting and overwhelming also boring for them! I just had Piper and it was super hard
The malls are an amazing experience in and of themselves! especially the Iconsiam! It was huge, and even have play spaces! The aquarium is also located inside another huge mall and grant had an awesome time there! Great low key easy activity for the whole family!
We hope you get out and explore the world with your little ones as well and find this video helpful in doing just that! Thank you so much for watching and pls like and subscribe!!
