| Video Discription | তিস্তা নদী || teesta river ==== শিলিগুড়ি থেকে দার্জিলিং, কালিম্পং বা সিকিম যাওয়ার পথে তিস্তা নদীকে দেখে তার প্রেমে পড়েনি এমন মানুষ বোধহয় নেই। তিস্তার পান্না সবুজ জল মানুষকে পাগল করে দেয়। বহু মানুষ অসীম আবেগে তিস্তাকে নিয়ে বহু কবিতা লিখেছেন। তিস্তার আবেগ , তার রুপ বার বার মানুষকে টেনে নিয়ে যায় তার কাছে। তিস্তাকে বাদ দিয়ে বাংলা বা সিকিমে হিমালয় দর্শন যেন নুন ছাড়া তরকারী। আমাদের কাছে গঙ্গা যেমন পবিত্র নদী তেমনি ওই এলাকার মানুষের কাছে তিস্তাও অতি পবিত্র নদী। তাদের বিভিন্ন ধর্মীয় আচারে তিস্তার জল ব্যাবহ্রিত হয়। তিস্তা উত্তরবঙ্গ ও সিকিমের লাইফ লাইন। ৫৩৩০ মিটার (17487 ফুট) উচ্চতায় উত্তর সিকিমের ছোলামু লেক থেকে তিস্তার উৎপত্তি। তারপর সে পাড়ি দিয়েছে দীর্ঘ ৩১৫ কিমি। এর মধ্যে ২০০ কিমি ভারতে ও বাকি ১১৫ কিমি বাংলাদেশের মধ্যে দিয়ে প্রবাহিত হয়েছে। বেশ কিছু ছোট ছোট নদী তিস্তায় মিলিত হলেও তিস্তার প্রধান উপনদী রঙ্গীত। শিলিগুড়ি শহর থেকে ২২ কিলোমিটার দূরে সেবকের করোনেশন সেতু পেরিয়ে তিস্তা পশ্চিমবঙ্গের সমভূমি অঞ্চলে প্রবেশ করেছে। তারপর পশ্চিমবঙ্গের জলপাইগুড়ি জেলা ও বাংলাদেশের রংপুর জেলার মধ্যে দিয়ে প্রবাহিত হয়ে তিস্তা মিশেছে ব্রহ্মপুত্রে। There are probably no people who have not fallen in love with the river Teesta on their way from Siliguri to Darjeeling, Kalimpong or Sikkim.
