| Video Discription | This huge limestone cave is filled with colorful stalactites, stalagmites, and flowstone formations. We hooked up with our friends Ali and Matt from Zihuatanejo, Mexico, and made our way from Zihua to the trail head near the town of Majahua. The hike to the cave, while not terribly long, is fairly steep as it winds its way through the jungle. It is also a very hot and humid area. Once at the cave, we found a huge portal leading to a slippery path that descended steeply down into the dark cave. Right away, we noticed huge and colorful mineral formations. The main cavern is at least 150 feet across and 100 feet tall and roughly circular in shape. This ancient cave has been used as a ceremonial center and astronomical observatory for the prediction of agriculture, rains, and drought cycles. After exploring the cave, we made our way back down the mountain and headed to a nearby beach bar where we enjoyed a great meal and a well-deserved beer.
