Basic thing is when some food is stuck or maybe something sharp is stuck onto your tooth and this may result in gum pain or it can be infection that can cause gum pain. Food lodgements, spacing. There can be decay in between two teeth and food can get lodged and you can have gum pain gum pain in turn can also feel like a tooth pain. For patient they may radiate and cause inconvenience. Ofcourse if you have deposits and if you don’t maintain well ad if you don’t brush or floss . So you may have issues with gums or bleeding gums that can cause gum pain. How to manage this is there are multiple treatments that can be done. First while having food, sometimes it is inevitable that you have something poking your gums like fish bones or jeera or spices that we use. However it is better that a periodontist looks into your gums, and cleans it and if it is maintained well, then a gum pain shouldn’t be caused and if there is some clinical procedure that needs to be done like oral prophylaxis or root planning or if there is an infection or abscess is there in the gums then probably we may have to drain the abscess to relieve the pain. |
