| Video Discription | I bought this antique (1954?) Nylint #1800 Traveloader along with several other toys from a yard sale for $30, and I thought it would make a neat restoration video. This seems to be a kind of rare toy. There were 3 different models made, and this one appears to be the 2nd version. As you could see in the video, it was very rusted and pitted. After dismantling, sandblasting, and cleaning up the parts, I used JB Weld for a filler because it can withstand high heat for the powder coating process. After removing the gear cover, I found that one of the spindles was broken, and the parts were in disarray, and also one gear was missing some teeth. I was able to get a new gear made at a local machine shop. One of the problems I ran into was finding tubular rivets long enough to rebuild the metal conveyor. I ended up making some out of some 1/8” steel rods and then bluing them for a black finish and a rust protector. The two piece rim was put back together using a 5/16” brake line to clinch them together plus it had a hole for the axle to slide through. The new rubber conveyor was purchased on eBay along with the decals. I was able to find a new rear pulley online as well.
