| Video Discription | My first YouTube video! (in years, at least) This video is a short and hopefully inspiring look into my trip to the Azores, specifically to the island of São Miguel, in 2022. I've realized this year how much we can hold ourselves back in life because we want to stay in our comfort zones, and how important it is to push yourself to try new things. It's so tempting to stay small in life and follow the path set before us. So many people in the world are striving to achieve goals set by other people. In my own life I always felt aimless, like the world didn't make sense. It was only this year that I realized I felt that way because of the juxtaposition of what I felt like I "could" and "should" do, and the things I actually wanted to do. I'd encourage whoever watches this video or reads this description to be intentional in their choices in life. Make sure you're doing things that are important to you, and not just the things you feel comfortable doing because you're used to them. I myself had a job I wasn't particularly happy with, but I stayed in it for 4 years because I was USED to it. I was uncomfortably numb, not sure why I felt so disconnected, but not sure of what else I could do. So I spent 4 years aimlessly wandering through life, unhappy but afraid to let go. Then through a lot of internal work, I realized that I could choose to embrace the unknown, dive into the discomfort, and build a life that actually meant something to me, rather than the one that just happened to fall into my lap. You don't have to have everything figured out today. You just need to start.
