First up, we're traveling to Iran's second largest city of Mashhad to visit the SAFFRON FIELDS! But first, we need some PERSIAN BREAKFAST! Mr. Taster is bringing us in super LOCAL for a famous Iranian street food BREAKFAST, the HALEEM! It's a THICK Iranian recipe made of wheat and beef and covered in a lamb and lentil stew, a little spicy and also sweet and cinnamon filled! One of the MOST UNIQUE Street Foods in IRAN!!! We're going in at 4am to see the chefs and how they make it. And after getting full on Iranian Breakfast, we're going to the saffron FIELDS to see how saffron is harvested at the SOURCE in Iran!!! Mr. Taster is bringing us into the fields to hand pick the individual pieces of saffron and have saffron tea before going to the SAFFRON FACTORY! We're driving into the NOVIN Saffron FACTORY in Mashhad, Iran! Here, there's definitely over $1,000,000 of saffron in stock, kept in a vault like a BANK!!! We're meeting with the owner himself, Mr. Ali, to take us for a tour of the Novin Saffron Factory and explain to us how saffron is processed and exported all over the world.
