On its surface, it’s a fast-paced, action-packed car combat arena fighting game. Going a little deeper, it’s also a mysterious, brooding world that’s brilliant in its darkness and features a cast of characters whose stories I find to be endlessly fascinating. Those characters are what I would like to explore today. I’ll go through each one and break down what they’re all about, their place in the world of Twisted Metal: Black, and in addition to that, what they could represent in the larger meta narrative of the game.
