Now Uddhav Thackeray will be sworn-in as the chief minister of Maharashtra after the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress alliance declared him their leader. The pro-tem speaker has started administering oath to 288 newly elected members in the Maharashtra assembly today. The oath is being administered by newly appointed pro-tem speaker Kalidas Kolambkar. Five days after Maharashtra got Devendra Fadnavis back as the chief minister, now it will have Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray as the new chief minister. Thackeray will be sworn in as the chief minister on Friday. NCP leader Ajit Pawar resigned as the Deputy CM from the Fadnavis government and forced him to also quit as the chief minister. Later the three parties' alliance Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi staked claim to form the government and met Governor BS Koshyari to offer him a letter of support of 166 MLAs, much above the required the majority mark. Maharashtra will have a Shiv Sena chief minister after 20 years but for the first a Thackeray family member will be the chief minister.
