| Video Discription | Ukrainian Dumplings: Varenyky Recipe with Cherries 🍒 Varenyky with cherries are a traditional Ukrainian dish, enjoyed especially during the summer when cherries are in season. Ingredients 🥟 Cherries - 250 g (peeled from bones) 🥟 Flour - 400 gr 🥟 Salt - 0.5 tsp 🥟 Hot water - 200 ml 🥟 Eggs - 2 pcs. 🥟 Vegetable oil - 3 tbsp 🥟 Salt, pepper - to taste 🥟 Sour cream - for serving 🥟 Powdered sugar - for serving Peel the cherries from the bones. I used frozen ones. Take them out of the freezer and let them thaw. Prepare the Dough: - In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and boiling water. Stir the water and flour with a fork, then add the oil. - Add 1 egg and 1 yolk to the dough. Once the dough has cooled slightly, knead it by hand. - Knead the dough and cover it with plastic wrap. Let it rest for 30 minutes. Assemble the Dumplings: - Roll out the dough to a thickness of 0.3-0.5 cm. Use a round cutter to cut out shapes for the dumplings. - Place 1 teaspoon of filling on each round and fold (using a tool or your hands), sealing the edges. Bring a pot of water to a boil. When the water boils, add the dumplings and cook for 3-5 minutes (or until they float). Fresh dumplings cook faster, while frozen ones take about 7-10 minutes. Serve the dumplings with sour cream and powdered sugar Smachnogo! Enjoy! |
