| Video Discription | This is a great example of a first phaco. Here Janet Tsui (pronounce sue ee -- therefore sweet is spelled tsuite) does her first complete cataract case. We do things a bit different on the first few cases. The incision is limbal. The nucleofractis is done one-handed with the nucleus cracker. The manipulation is done by the attending to allow the resident to focus on their primary hand. Our resindets before attempting their first case have done the back portion of cases eg. I/A, placing the IOL. They also have done a lot of work on the simulator and in the wet lab. Dr. Tsui does a great job and I hope this will serve as an example of best case for first case. |
