| Video Discription | This video was made in response to questions about SPF testing vs PA system on the Purito label. From what we know, the PA system was not questioned formally but I think we all will be skeptical with all susncreens going forward. Also I have my own thoughts about the PA system. It has been a few weeks since the Purito SPF 50+ was called out by INCIDecoder. You may have read their report and findings and asked yourself: What exactly is SPF? What are in vitro and in vivo testing? What does the PA rating on my Asian sunscreen mean? SPF is sun protection factor. Should our habits of application change depending on the SPF? This video primarily goes over the different UV rays: UVA and UVB. Do they both contribute to burns, skin cancers or tanned skin? After reviewing the different UV rays, I will dive into in vivo and in vitro UVB SPF testing (MED) and also persistent pigment darkening (PPD) and UVA- this correlates with the Japanese PA setting on sunscreen labels.
