| Video Discription | Uzhunnu Bonda INGREDIENTS: Urud daal ( Uzhunnu) - 1 cup Rice flour - 2 tablespoons ( to get crispy bondas ) (You can also use more than 2 tablespoons if the urud dal batter is thin in consistency ) Onion - 1 medium sized chopped Ginger - 1 small piece chopped Curry leaves / Coriander leaves - chopped Green chilly - 2 nos chopped Asafoetida ( kaaya podi )- a pinch (optional) Pepper powder - 1/4 teaspoon ( you can also use crushed pepper instead of pepper powder ) Salt to taste water - to make the batter Oil - to fry the bonda PREPARATION: 1.Wash the urud daal well and soak it in water for 2 to 3 hours. 2. Drain the water and grind it well in a mixer grinder to form a thick smooth batter. Use less water to grind it. 3.Add the rice flour and mix well. 4. Beat well the batter for 5 minutes using a spoon / ladle to make it a soft and fluffy batter. 5. Allow the batter to rest for 2 to 3 hours if possible. ( Optional ) 6.Add the chopped onions, green chillies, ginger, curry leaves, pepper powder, asafeotida and salt. Mix well and combine altogether. 7. Take another kadai and pour some oil to fry the bonda. 8. To the hot oil, pour some batter by using a spoon or hand. 9. Fry until it becomes a golden brown colour. Uzhunnu Bondas are ready !!!
