I am making this in response to a question asked by a viewer on the god energies Shiva/Vishnu in Hindu philosophy. Most people in the world follow the bhakti marga or path of devotion to a God. This concept of devotion too in different in the eastern dharmic faiths. In eastern faiths, it was perfectly acceptable to have devotion to one manifestation of the god energy and respect the other. The Bhakti movement in Hinduism gave rise to Saivism (devotion to shiva) and Vaishnavism (devotion to vishnu). A few people of late have tried to portray a conflict between groups dedicated to shiva vs vishnu. They ignore the underlying philosphy and try to separate people into two groups claiming that there is no unifying Hindu philosophy.
