The region Valmeinier-Valloire, often considered the smaller version of the Trois Vallées, is located in the sun-spoiled Maurienne Valley. The resort is approximately 100 km from Chambery and easily reached from the A43. With the lift pass ‘’Valmeinier,’’ you’ll have your choice between 33 lifts and 85 pistes with a total length of 150 km. The fifth-largest ski area in Savoy is comprised of the resorts Valmeinier 1500, Valmeinier 1800, and Valloire. As in many French ski areas, enormous deep-powder areas are accessible directly from the lifts. The valley doesn’t only excite free-riders, but also those who stick to the pistes: the 150 km are perfectly connected and navigable. A ride in the ultra-light airplane is a real thrill. Discover the beauty and vastness of the valley weightlessly from above. Insider’s tip: wear your warmest gloves! Back on the ground, there’s plenty more to explore. Endless slopes with splendid pistes perfect for carving and pleasure skiing alike spread across the quaint mountain village of Valmeinier along the Le Gros Crey. The side of the mountain just opposite the village is hardly developed with pistes and lifts and thus perfect for untouched deep-powder runs. Snowboarders will find a snow park on the Crey du Quart which is prepared daily and complete with half pipe and boarder-cross stretch. This park is divided into two areas - beginners will find the perfect place to start in the Easypark, where small rolling hills and tight curves dominate the landscape. For experts, the park also offers 10 larger obstacles. Depending on the snow conditions, the playground is expanded to include further kickers. The altitude of the ski area, where 70% of the pistes are above 2,000 m along with more than 400 snow canons guarantee the greatest possible snow certainty.
