| Video Discription | Vatanyachi Usal | Spicy White Peas Curry Dried white peas dishes are not as common as fresh green ones. Especially because they take time to cook. These little bean/lentil family members may take some time to cook but they are extremely high in fibre content and other minerals mainly iron. It is highly recommended for people with iron deficiency. Enjoy it with chapattis or puris. But at home this spicy gravy is always served with crusty bread or pav, garnished with onions and a lemon wedge. List of ingredients 400 gms while peas/safed vatana 2 large onions 2-3 green chilly A handful of chopped coriander leaves 2 large tomatoes chopped 10-12 pods of garlic 3 tsp of pav bhaji masala (Any store brought brand will do. I generally use Everest brand) 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp Kasuri methi 1 1/2 tsp Kashmiri chilly powder 3-4 tsp oil 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp asafoetida 1/2 tsp chilly flakes Salt as per taste |
