Vesak Day is the most important day of the year and is celebrated by Buddhists all over the world. Buddhists commemorate the important events that took place on this day. The first was the birth of Siddhartha Gautama in Lambini, Nepal. The incident took place under the Sat tree arbor born by Queen Mahamaya. The second thing is the highest achievement of Siddharta Gautam, the Buddha, the enlightened one. The third event was the Parinibbana ceremony of the Buddha 2500 years ago in Kusinagar. In Sri Lanka, Buddhists participated in traditional ceremonies. Many of them spent the whole day in the temple and reiterated their determination to follow the teachings of the Buddha. In this holy day, "Dana" (charity) plays an important role. This is a sign of sharing happiness and peace with people.
