With EIFF's proud history of screening his films in mind, this retrospective will take us chronologically through the complete catalogue of Hill's directorial work up to that point, with screenings of Hard Times (1975), The Driver (1978), The Warriors (1979), The Long Riders (1980), Southern Comfort (1981), 48 Hrs. (1982) and, indeed, Streets of Fire. An astonishing unbroken run of essential American cinema to savour, in celebration of a remarkable filmmaker. |
