On the flip side, the narcissist has a fear of getting close and when his borderline counterpart tries to smother him, he will distance. This Dance of Dysfunction is a never ending cycle and what Dr. Judy calls the true WTF. The WTF repetitive pattern of relationships. This hellish nightmare can only be stopped by dismantling core wounds but for those in these types of dysfunctional relationships, it is imperative that they do the work to heal the hole in the soul that lay at the base of this dysfunction.
