Scheidenfreude, a chubby character in German attire, symbolizing the satisfaction from others' misfortune, was considered but left out for audience clarity. Covetousness had a second, more sinister version—a thin man in a green suit—but was deemed too frightening for Inside Out's non-explicit villain theme. Guilt, depicted as a large purple character, was considered but ultimately replaced by Embarrassed for clarity in explaining emotions.
