The verdict, based on 34 petitions filed by both factions of the Shiv Sena, has been clubbed into six groups. In June 2022, Eknath Shinde and several MLAs rebelled against then CM Uddhav Thackeray, triggering a split in the Shiv Sena that led to the collapse of the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi government, which also comprised the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress.
