The idea is to strengthen the core so that higher intensity workouts can be started confidently and safely. Pilates is wonderful for people who have invested lots of energy into detaching from their body. Pilates is about focusing on this wonderful mechanism we inhabit and helping it move well. I’m hoping this workout is mindful of the issues people have when overweight and reassuring that movement is good and the restrictions you feel do not mean you must stop.
