15 World’s Worst Neighbours
Wherever you go in the world, you’re going to encounter awful neighbors. The only way you might be able to prevent this is if you like as a recluse in some secluded location that is unknown to friends and family. So, as that idea is not exactly doable, you might find yourself having to deal with the neighbors from hell. Forbes listed the following as the worst neighbors to have:
1. The Noisy Neighbour
2. The Shady Neighbour
3. The Passionate Couple Neighbour
4. The Creepy or Crazy Neighbour
5. The Tattletale Neighbour
One they didn’t add though, is the nosy neighbor, and we’ve all had our fair share of those! Let’s go meet some of these neighbors, and maybe you’ll end up tolerating yours after hearing these stories!
15 - Time for a trim
Ok, we won’t lie, it’s not ideal when your neighbor doesn’t take pride in their home or garden. It does create an eyesore and devalues the properties around it. But that doesn’t mean you go and burn down their home! Phillip Bennet allegedly got so fed up with his neighbor’s unkempt lawn, that he took matters in his own hands and opted to just burn down the house. Fortunately, no one was harmed in this crazy incident, but maybe the neighbor will think twice before skipping on his next mowing session.
14 - “Cat” astrophic
A thread was running on Reddit where people could submit their worst neighbor stories and some of them are honestly not YouTube friendly, but Throwawayca91's story was quite unusual. There was quite a stench coming from her neighbor’s apartment, and this smell was prevalent for 2-years. Eventually, animal control officials came to check out the apartment, only to find 30 cats living in the small apartment. Well, that explains the constant smell of cat urine.
13 - The Cat Lady
If you’re a cat lover, we know that you’re passionate about cats, but are you passionate enough to steal someone else’s cat? A lady tells the story of how her cat went missing for a few days, as cats sometimes do, but the cat returned home to her owner. A few days later, there were “Lost Cat” posters all over the apartment building, of pictures of the missing cat! Ironically, the cat thief went knocking on all her neighbor’s doors looking for her “lost cat” only to come upon the real owner, where she made a hasty retreat. Even stranger, the cat wasn’t an ordinary cat, but a beautiful Bengal that is clearly not astray!
12 - Revenge is sweet
Well, that’s what some people believe. Greg Jennings had a surprise visit from some task force officers where he was falsely accused of illegal activities. He believed that it was his neighbor who made the allegations and decided that revenge was the best remedy. When the neighbor in question, Cathy Hesterberg, installed a motion-sensitive camera, he would spend hours dancing in front of it or walking across it with a cardboard box on his head, knowing that it would beep each time he passed the sensor. As he was not technically in her property, he got away with it. The story made the local news, but hopefully, they’ve sorted out their differences, because they’re still neighbors!
11 - Love Thy Neighbour
Unless his name is David Constantine because it would be hard to love a neighbor that has been legally banned from coming back to his own home. So, what did this guy do that got him banned from his own home? He would threaten his neighbors, cut their hedges without asking, and we don’t mean a neighborly trim, erect barbed wire between their homes and randomly bang on their doors in the middle of the night.
His alleged that his neighbors hit him with a frying pan and stabbed him in the chest! That false accusation saw an innocent man being arrested! He harassed his neighbors so badly that he was arrested for attempting to take their lives!
The court made a deal with Constantine, stating that he could avoid prison, but he would have to sell his house and not go back to the property without a chaperone. The house didn’t sell, so he had no choice but to return home. The judge stood firm on his prison threat, and if he was any further trouble, that’s where he would go!
10 - There goes the neighborhood
It’s no secret that you can’t choose your neighbors, and sometimes you hit the jackpot and live next door to some amazing people who feel like family. Then, you have an experience like Cathy Budde. Cathy was constantly finding human waste on your lawn and had enough. Her children decided to stake out the property to find out who was leaving the parcel and their efforts were rewarded. It was a local jogger that would just relieve herself on the lawn and she was caught mid-act! Weirdly, she continued to do her business there but would bring napkins to pick up after herself. She was never arrested. |
