| Video Discription | A video recording of this very special occasion at London King's Cross. The main events were the naming of the locomotive and the special private charter demonstration train departing for York. A band played some rousing music and notably the theme tune from the much loved TV program "Blue Peter". Peter Waterman was also enjoying the proceedings. Class 57 57311 brought in the empty stock and was at the rear of the train to York. Photography and recording was a challenge for many due to the large crowds assembled on the platforms at the station. I have also included several of my wife's clips which she took mainly from where the train was standing at Platform 8. . |
