Officers detained 16 people, including Democratic Party’s Lam Cheuk-ting and Ted Hui Chi-fung. Lam was arrested on suspicion of rioting in relation to the Yuen Long incident on July 21, 2019, in which a mob beat pro-democracy protesters and bystanders with rods at Yuen Long MTR station. Lam and Hui were also arrested over a rally in Tuen Mun Park on July 6, 2019, in which residents protested against the alleged nuisance caused by singing and dancing women.
