| Video Discription | SANAM TERI KASAM (1982) is a movie produced by Barkha Roy (Reena Roy's sister). The film featured Reena Roy and Kamal Hassan in the main leads and they were supported by artists like Kadar Khan, Jeevan, Ranjeet, Seema Deo, Bhagwan Dada, Guddi Maruti and Jagdeep. The music of the movie was by Rahul Dev Burman and the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhosle and RD Burman. This was the first movie for which RD Burman (finally) won the Filmfare Award for best music director. The songs are all classics : the title song (KItne Bhi Tu Karle Situm,Sanam Teri Kasam - a tandem sung both by Kishore Kumar and by Asha Bhosle) to Jaana O Meri Jaana, Dekhta Hoon Koi Ladki Haseen, Jaane Jaan O Meri Jaane Jaan and Sheeshe Ke Gharon Mein... all hummable even today. The story was based on many a Nasir Hussain movie. But just like the Nasir Hussain movies it was more about the treatment, the moments, the emotions and the music. The guy during the title sequence was Mahesh Anand. A model those days, he made his debut in this movie and would go on to play many villian's sidekick in 80's movies. He would eventually also marry Reena Roy's sister Barkha Roy (1 of his 4 wives). This is the best print available. Hope everyone will enjoy |
