At the early start of his plan, Zhou was acquainted with his sworn friend Xiao Xiong, who turned into Zhou’s frenemy, however, after his imprisonment resulted from their smuggling action. For over three decades, Zhou and Xiao had built up their own clothing empires respectively and they competed with each other during the years. At the beginning of Reform and Opening-Up, Zhou Xiaoqiang, a courageous, insistant and intelligent pioneer who feared not the many difficulties and strived for any possiblities, has expanded his business through Guangdong, Shenzhen and even the Soviet Union. Later, he returned his hometown where he set up his company-Meizi.
