Eventually I decided to do a video demonstration from and actual 300 lb. hog that we process for someone so you could get a visual answer to the question of how much meat it produces. Usually a 300 lb. hog produces between 150-180 lbs. of take home meat. It varies a lot depending how many "bone in" cuts you get. In the video I walk you thru how much bacon, jowl bacon, pork chops, tenderloin, sliced shoulder (pork steak), sliced & cured ham, hocks and sausage you get from a 300 lb. hog. Keep in mind that you could get your hog done totally different -- it all depends on how you want us to process your hog. This is meant to give an idea of what one guy's hog produced - so that you get an idea of the potential this great hog deal has. We do sell hogs this size and process them for you for a total of $400. Price can vary depending upon the exact weight of the hog. |
