| Video Discription | During the 2004' US Congressional campaign Ed Broyhill was endorsed by US Senator Jesse Helms who he had known much of his life. Upon annoucing his candidacy for the US Senate in 1972 Jesse Helms called Ed Broyhill first for help and guidance on his first political campaign. Helms in 1972 was an unknown politician working previously as a TV political commentator on WRAL in Raleigh, NC. New to grass roots, handshaking, rural politiking Helms depended on Broyhill's guidance stomping fairgrounds, barbecues, and festivals throughout the state in a 2 door oldsmobile.
