| Video Discription | This 1950 Oliver HG Hercules IXB-3 engine had not been started in a while. The old Zenith carburetor (wrong model), and fuel line were all gummed up. The Wico Model XH-1113 magneto was not creating spark. The wiring was a chicken's nest. I replaced the carb with a modern Zenith, cleaned the fuel lines and the gas tank, and I added a newly refurbished magneto. I also swapped out for new spark plugs and plug wires while I was at it, plus I disconnected all the wiring at the generator to exclude any short circuits. 1. The engine fired up first time but raced. The carb to governor rod has been welded and the end swivel is missing making the whole assembly too short to idle at the lower revs I'd prefer. 2. With some adjustment, the engine has settled down but the messed-up carb to governor rod continues to annoy. I will have to fit a new carb to governor rod so that the idling will sit down correctly.
