So when there is pressure of facet joints, then there can be arthritis join, so we call it as facet joint arthritis. So the combined augmentation of the disc as well as the facet joints produces Stiff Neck. Another reasons for Stiff Neck is inflammatory arthritis of the spine, like in spondylarthtis or ankylosing spondylitis. So this is the inflammatory disorder that affects the whole of the spine and it affect the neck. So these ere are various other reasons like infection of the bones can also produce Stiff Neck.
